2014 Volvo S80
Last Updated:
I guess this mean an old new one is still a few years away.
This just looks like a slightly new front end and rear. Who knows yet about the interior.
The current model is almost 7 years old already. So it does need something.
Maybe something more than a new front…
It's a Chinese brand now. I wouldn't expect much. This looks ten years old.

You are an idiot.
It isn't a Chinese "brand" now. It is Chinese OWNED, but it is still headquartered in Sweden and run by Swedes. The parent company has no say in how Volvo operates its design departments.
I hate ignorant ass comments like that.
Here's an ignorant @$$ comment: "The parent company has no say in how Volvo operates its design departments." Do you have ANY idea of what a "parent company" is??? They are the ones who have the LAST say– and also the ONLY say! EVERYBODY in (Volvo) at Sweden answers to CHINA! No exeptions! If China wants to steal all the patents and use them on a Chinese-made car; they can! If China wants to close the plant tomorrow and fire everybody and violate any and all employee contracts–THEY CAN! Volvo and it's people and its designs and engineering are totally under the jursdiction of the Chinese (Government-controlled) Company that OWNS them; and they will do what ever pleases them; whenever and however they feel like it. PERIOD!
That rear shot looks like the car's been in a collision

this person needs to take a business class. there are contracts for a reason.
take off your tinfoil hat.
"You are an idiot."
No need to get pissy. It's a Chinese company, and the Swedes are less involved than ever. In spite of what you think, that's the reality. Unlike when Ford owned Volvo, China manufactures all of their own parts in China, cheaply. Ford is a truly global company, and sources platforms and parts globally to use among all of their global brands. That's precisely why Volvo hasen't offered any new models. Geely doesn't have a proper platform to do so.

FYI My Business DEGREE is from a big 10 university. Since then I've gone on to found THREE Corporations–ran one for 5 years, one for 18 years, and one for 27 years. A Contract is only as good as the Country it's written in and only as enforceable as that government allows it to be. You do know China is Socialist (Communist version); don't you???
