2026 Toyota Corolla Cross.
Last Updated:

Toyota just gave an update to the Corolla Cross for the 2026 model year. And the few changes seem to make a big difference.
There are now two new front-end designs, for the regular model and the Hybrid version. Both are a huge improvement over the old, sad face with the huge grille. The new design is also much more angular than before, yet it seems to fit the rest of the design just fine.
However, the two top photos show the European version of the revised 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross. Which is actually different from the one we are getting in the US. Ad, yes, again, the US one looks pretty dopey when compared to the much sharper new European front ends.
Especially the non-hybrid model (red car). With another take on the “grille too big for a small car” design philosophy.
The US hybrid version (blue car) looks a bit better. And probably more like the upcoming 2026 RAV4.
Things are very similar inside. The screen is, of course, larger and seems to be sticking out of the dashboard even more than before. And the console has been completely redesigned with a new shifter. As well as wireless charging and 4 USB ports. I have to say that new console looks a lot better.
Powertrains are exactly the same. That means a 2.0-liter engine with 169HP or a hybrid with 194HP with AWD standards.
The Toyota Corolla Cross sold 93,000 units in the US last year. While Honda sold almost 140,000 units of the comparable HR-V. That is quite a difference. And Honda doesn’t even offer a Hybrid version of the HR-V. Yet.
Which has been rumored to happen maybe as soon as later this year. And would make the HR-V an even more popular choice.
I’m not sure these small changes for 2026 will increase sales that much for Toyota…
