Vince, this might sound like a dumb question, but do they sell diesel in US gas stations?? I’m from the UK, and i figured that as you don’t have many diesels it might not be available?
In Los Angeles I see quite a few stations that carry diesel.
But a friend of mine used to have an old Mercedes diesel and she had to pretty much plan her trips around these stations.
But I think it is better now.
I see diesel pumps at all the Phillips 66 gas stations here in St. Louis. And Phillips 66 is the most prominent gas station brand we see here. Generally, all the stations next to the highway will have diesel because of the truckers who use it.

Pretty much anywhere one goes in the united states now, there’s plenty of diesel to be had. The reason there has been such an improvement in the last ten years, is that almost all of the domestic large pickups are now optioned with the Diesel engine.
But to be honest even back in the mercedes diesel days(which my parents were very much a part of) you could always find the stuff if you knew the area or asked directions. I know as I went on many a roadtrip in a 300TD or 240D back in the early 1990s.
I hope Hyundai has the fallow-thru to release a Veracruz D. Wouldn’t put too much hope into it though; This is the only carmaker in this country thats too afraid to put proper Sat-Navi into any of its states bound cars, because it thinks no one would buy it.
diesel is over here in Virginia at a price of about 20% over 87 octane. Honda may offer a diesel CRV next year according to TOV.
Navi for hyundai will be avaliable in a few months. Maybe 1 to 3 months. Hyundai co developed the system with LG. The models that will get are Entourage, Santa Fe, Sonata, Azera, Veracruz, and Genesis/BH. There is a mobis and nuvi system at hyundai dealers as an accessory. John Krafcik said he liked the nuvi over anything else. Krafcik was concerned about the after market getting better and cheaper. There will be navi and possibly bluetooth. The BH will have bluetooth and navi for sure.
