2007 Toyota Solara

Just a few changes.
They didn’t ruin it, but I can’t really see an improvement either.
A good car anyway…

At least it gets Bluetooth and an iPod plug inside.

  1. UGLY lookin thing from the outside, but nice in the inside. the front bumper looks as if it were aftermarket in other words not cool

  2. A bloated poor-man’s version of the Lexus SC … Not a bad looking car, but far from masculine. Thinking 30+ y/o women….

  3. If I were a secretary and in the market for a nice looking convertible, I’d choose a Sebring over this. The interior of the Solara is nice but the exterior is just in poor taste. To keep my masculinity intact, I’ve had to reject taking possession of one of these at the rental counter.

That’s all it takes to keep your masculinity intact? Hmmm. I feel sorry for your wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/whatever.

I have never really like the Solara and sales figures seem to indicate there are more of us than those who do. I do see mostly women driving them (I guess to keep their femininity intact).

    Oh, and Vince, cool site.

Yep. The car you drive makes an impression. That’s the reality and we all know it. I would feel ridiculous driving this car.

  6. i agree, about how its like a poor mans SC430… especially how they revised the tail-lights. not a bad looking car tho.

  7. I drove a Sebring for 2 months a couple of years ago.
It was fine, but nothing like the Solara. The Toyota is much more refined and the interior is just in another league. The Sebring interior was never great, but now it is really outdated.
The Solara is a bit more expensive but it feels like at least twice the price of the Sebring.
I drove the Toyota a few weeks ago and came out very impressed.

And I really don’t think what you drive has anything to do with your masculinity. I actually know a couple of gay guys who drive big trucks.
Most guys are more secure than that…

  8. Since we don’t get this model where I am, can our North American friends tell me if this is a carryover, refreshed model, or based on the newest Camry? It looks just like the old one to me, based on my visits to the US.

  9. It is basically the same car.
Just new bumpers, and a few interior details.

This is not a new car. It will be replaced for the 2009 model year by an all new car. With a new name.

I’m glad my impressions are made and my masculinity is based upon more important considerations.

But thanks. I appreciate your honesty. There’s room for us all.
