2020 VW Jetta GLI
Last Updated:
VW is sticking to the same old recipe for the new 2020 Jetta GLI.
Just put the Golf GTI engine in a Jetta sedan with larger wheels and better seats.
And that is basically what the GLI has always been . And still is for 2020.
Which is great.
It comes with a 2.0 Liter engine with 228HP (Which is 18 more than the previous model)
Special 18 inch wheels.
LED headlights.
A standard 6 speed manula transmission, or an optional 7 speed DSG.
Independant suspension all around with a limited slip differential.
It will be available in 2 trim levels and a special 35th anniversary edition as well.
And the whole thing is covered by VW’s six year warranty.
I think this is pretty great. The new Jetta is a fine looking sedan, and the new GLI looks like it has everything to provide a super fun driving experience.
One of the very few car you can actually still get with a manual.
Speak for yourself Vince. All I see is an old VW design. Nothing more.
That grille ugh
Not sure how this is a "fine-looking sedan" when it looks even more dated than the Subaru Legacy, which you derided as old-fashioned.
All that camo and protection on the front end and all they did is paint a red stripe? SMH….
When I was in my young 20s, I would have done anything to have afforded a Mk3 GLI. I ended up with a GTI since it was cheaper and had no need for the extra space. I fell in love with the Mk2 GLI, and my love for these cars continued until the messy Mk4 Jetta doused my enthusiasm and desire to own one. That's when I switched to Audi. The Jetta has been a disappointment ever since. This thing is a total mess. I hope this Jetta fails fast so that VW can quickly make the decision to move on to something better.
