2008 Nissan Pathfinder

Last Updated:

In the usual Nissan move, the Pathfinder gets an all new interior half way into its life cycle.
I guess people were complaining about a rather plasticky interior.
This one does look better and a bit more organic.

I never heard people complaining about the lack of power from the big 4.0 Liter 266hp V6 though…
But Nissan is now offering a 317hp V8, just in case.

And just in time. As gas is getting more and more expensive….

  1. Vince, You’re solid gold! You hit the nail on the head. Larger engine, just in time for rising gas prices!
Makes a whole ton of sense! Not.

  2. I think it looks great. The front end looks a little different and the interior is a major inprovement. I’m glad they are offering a V8. I am putting it on my list for my next vehicle. It’s funny how everyone is still talking about rising gas prices when all I have seen them do is go down. A month ago gas prices were pretty steady at around $2.50 a gallon up here in northern michigan. They went down last week to $1.93. Now they are pretty steady around $2.15.

  3. Where do you guys live? Gas prices have dropped to less than 2 bucks a gallon in my part on the country. Not to say that we should not waste one gallon putting into gas hogs like this, we shouldn’t. The center stack is just bad bad bad.

  4. Hmmm… that dash kinda looks like an in-car ATM, which I guess you’ll be needing in any case to pay for all that extra ga$ you’ll be using…

  5. I just filled up yesteday and it was about 15cents a gallon more than I saw it last week.
In the long term, prices aren’t going down.

  6. A mild restyling, another engine choice and an interior that still looks (and no doubt will be – this is Nissan after all) plasticky. A vehicle that will be practically invisible when it debuts in Chicago, along with the “new” Armada and Titan. Why even bother.

BTW, I paid 7¢ less per gallon than the last time I filled up.

  7. The V8 makes perfect sense to me, for someone that doesn’t want something as big as a Titan but wants a V8.

Besides, modern V6 & V8 puts out similar gas mileage anyways. If you are heavy footed, you will get low teens either one you choose. If you go easy on it, you will get high teens.
