2011 Dodge Durango

Last Updated:

Just a few teasers for now.

Underneath all these familiar design cues is hiding a cousin to the new Grand Cherokee.

They’re even talking of a Hemi. Which will be very popular once gas hits $4 a gallon, I’m sure….

  1. tha car looks sort of DATED already.
    dunno, maybe thats just me.

i think the refreshed charger looks nicer.

  2. I have fond memories of my '99 Durango but that was many moons ago. Can't imagine anyone wanting something so big and bulky anymore but I still see tons of old Durangos around Colorado.

  3. They need something to sell. The GC was going to happen no matter what. Badge engineering this is relatively cheap and at least puts something on the dealers lots.

  4. They better have a good marketing campaign to help move this thing. It looks good, but not good enough to stand out next to the new Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Ford Explorer.

  5. The idea of an SUV this size seems outdated now. The new Explorer and Jeep Grand Cherokee have set the bar pretty high in this category. This Durango will have to be outstanding and more economical to compete. Hope it is up to the task for Chrysler's sake. Maybe this should have been folded into the Ram brand since it is so truck like?

  6. It looks very dated and just not crisp, like they didnt put much effort into it, once again chyrsler is 2 steps behind, and the grand cherokee aint very fresh either, basically 2002 or so design, NOT 2011

  7. This should have been the exact model released when the second generation came out. Looks good and remains true to the original durango heritage, but its a little late to the market

  8. I thought I read that the "cross-hair" grille design was moving to Ram only, except for the next Charger, so I'm surprised to see it on another new Dodge. I do like the front end, but the back is very '90s import minivan.

  9. I gotta say all these "teaser" photos from different manufacturers lately are making me laugh. Dodge is like the girl during spring break who can't keep her shirt on by showing A LOT in these photos….and then there's Ford, whith their Explorer, who is acting like a timid nun, being all proud by showing the world her chin or big toe or something, and not really showing us anything with their new vehicle.

I'm sorry to all the women out there. I'm not trying to be disrespectful to you. It's just my pittyful attempt at humorous analogies. Please feel free to substitute the word boy for girl:)

  10. I thought teasers photos were supposed to excite, intrigue, create a buzz, etc. Sadly, like the Explorer shots, these do not. Boring vehicles make for boring teaser photos.

  12. Are you people nuts? This is a million times better then previous durangos, though im not crazy about the rear end being the same as the jeep. The explorer is dead. Ford pulled itself out of the game. If Dodge can make this fuel efficient, then they have some product

  13. They STILL sell Tahoes, Suburbans, Expeditions, Navigators, Escalades, Sequoias, and Full-size V8's from Nissan, Infinity, Toyota, etc. I think this will put them ALL to shame. It's the only real legitimate (3-row) competitor to GM's Enclave/Traverse. I can tow my boat, my Camping trailer, and still take the whole family on a trip without paying Toyota Sequoia gas prices. And I LOVE the styling! I WANT IT NOW!!!!

    You are nuts, Salvatore.

The new Explorer will outsell this 3:1-5:1.

    Mark my words.

  15. I don't think it looks bad. Probably not the home run that Dodge needs tho. It'll sell in very modest numbers.

No, Salvatore; they're just ignorant fools. Enclave & Traverse have been burying everyone else from Pilot to Sequoia to Explorer to LX570. This Dodge is the same formula and it's destined to be just as sucessful: V-6; 3-rows; Huge towing ability that will dwarf anything in it's MPG range. Add 2011 Grand Cherokee Quality and you DEFINITELY have a genuine winner. It's not for everyone. But neither are Camrys or Rigelines. As for those of us looking at SUV's — we've just found a new standard to aspire to. Thank-you Dodge!

  17. damn dodge!!! uncreative ,it really copying toyota fortuner which sale in south east asia since 2005 .
