Something you don’t see every day…

Yet…

Just saw this new Cadillac XTS being unloaded at some “GM Center” around L.A last week.
Although I was only able to take this one picture, I saw the whole car.
And it does look really nice in the flesh.

  1. To me (from pics only) this car looks fat and somehow flabby. I mean look at the taillamps in proportion to the butt-size of that car – they look obtuse and not right. I do hope it looks better in the flesh than what I see in the pics.

The pics of the new ATS have turned me off to that car too. I was intending to buy one, but the pics struck me as looking very uninspired, and then when they announced pricing I thought "40 G's for a car whose line has looked looks the same for a decade?" It's the same reason I am turning off to Audi. I dont mind brands sticking to a design direction, but please evolve it some.

  2. Seen this car driving up and down Milford road for the past few weeks. It gets my attention every time.

  3. Still looks better than any German luxury car where all the cars in the same line up all look like different sizes of the essentially the same style sausage. It's just their sausages come in different flavours– Audi, BMW, & Mercedes. They all look the same within their line up. This cars looks like a Caddy, does not pretend to be anything else, and does so quite well. Tell me what's wrong with that?

  4. Nice looking car. Doesn't look better or worse than any of the Lex/MB/Audi/BMW luxury cars.

At least the CTS stands out.

Lol…you do realize that is the exact same thing that Cadillac is doing now between the ATS, CTS, and XTS right?

  6. I was at the plant in Oshawa Ontario last month and saw these in the lot waiting for transport. A really impressive car. Great lines some Caddy nostaglia without being a retro design. Can't wait to drive one.

Actually I do. It's just that there seems to be a double standard when an American company does this. There is nothing wrong with any company having an easily definable and consistent design language within their own line up. It seems to me that when an American car company does this, they get reprimanded for this while the Germans are not.

  8. The XTS amd ATS look identical until you see the side profiles. It's impossible to tell those rear ends apart.

  9. My next car will be a BMW; but I must admit–when it comes to "stand-out" elegance Cadillac has them all beat cold.
