2021/22 Ford Edge: another facelift for China…
Last Updated:
The Ford Edge has been available in China with a longer wheelbase, 3-row version for a few years. It received a mid-cycle facelift in 2019. But it looks like more modifications are on the way.
The front end design is new. Again.
The big news appears inside with a new interior. The new dash seems very Kia like. With a couple of huge screens.
Since the Edge’s cousin, the Lincoln Nautilus, just got an all-new interior for 2021, I wonder if the US version of the Edge will be getting the new interior as well.
Here is the current 7 seater Ford Edge for the Chinese market.
Aren't we just now getting that monstrous vertical screen jammed into the existing dash for 2021? The one China already had for a couple years?
The US market is getting a medium height CUV based on an extended version of the Ford Escape platform to replace the Edge and Fusion. The plants that build the Edge have already stopped production because they canceled the model in the US and Europe.
How did you guess? I have actually been living under a rock for the last 7 1/2 years. (almost 8 now…)
That’s demonstrably false. Ford just announced the updated Edge for the US for 2021.
The 2021 US version is only getting the tablet style infotainment display, not this updated version that's in China. This will be exclusive to them as it has been canned in Europe and they are building the Chinese version in China. Unless you've been living under a rock they had planned this right after they announced Ford America would sell the Mustang as it's only car offering.
I mean you didn’t already know about the updated Edge for the US based on this post…
Vince they already revealed what the 2021 Edge interior would look like for the US over a month ago – it gets a huge tablet screen in the center stack:
