2023 Honda HR-V: new pix…
Last Updated:
These new photos give us a better idea of what the new HR-V for 2023 will look like. Also teasing the interior a bit.
I am actually surprised to see the interior being different from the Civic. Since the new HR-V is now based on the 2022 Civic, I thought Honda would get lazy and just “transfer” the Civic interior into the new SUV.
We can see the console is all new. But it also seems most of the dashboard is too. (Although the screen seems to be the same)
As we saw in early spy shots, there seem to be at least 2 different models. The 3rd photo seems to show a sportier version with larger wheels and more exposed exhaust.
As mentioned earlier, it could mean the Turbo 1.5 Liter from the Civic is available. Or a Hybrid version. (Although I don’t see any “Hybrid” logo anywhere.)
Who knows…
These new photos seem to concentrate on showing how roomy the new HR-V is. The current version I test drove a while ago is already one of the roomiest in its class. This one is even larger and could end up being almost as roomy as the current HR-V. (Meaning the next HR-V will grow in size as well…)
Even in these new photos, the new HR-V looks very anonymous. And still seems to have zero Honda DNA in its design. Which is really too bad…
huh, i don't hate the front like I did in the earlier post, I guess the angle and lighting and retouching helped, ha. But there's something new I noticed – the chiseled front end doesn't really go with the smooth and rounded rear. The back also kind of looks like Honda just softened/melted an Acura RDX back end from a couple years ago?
Actually, besides the center console the dashboard looks like it might be the same as the Civic's. You can see the infotainment screen, the HVAC controls, and the same horizontal mesh for the vents–all of these match the Civic.
news just posted on Temple Of VTEC has the color codes for the HRV. It seems to confirm one engine choice – the 2.0L from the Civic. And it confirms the Civic's current interior color selection as BLACK or GRAY. So I'll guess the dash is mostly the same, seats are the same (But lifted), the center stack is the same, but they're showing a new center between the seats. All of this is good news. I just wanted a hybrid.
There are 3 trim levels LX, Sport, and EX-L all available with AWD. All have the 2.0 L naturally-aspirated 158 hp 4 cylinders with CVT transmission

This is about as exciting as hairs on a bar of soap. The fact that it looks like a bar of soap degrades it's appeal to even less than that.
The sad reality is that this eyesore will be everywhere, as some people will just buy an appliance regardless of the packaging. Especially if it has a Honda badge on it.
Thanks for all the great info! (What is Nordic Forest? Is it a green?)
Also, I do think that hair on a bar of soap can be quite exciting…
Nordic Green is the color of the vehicle at the top of your post.
