2024 Honda Prologue: official video…

Last Updated:

This is Honda’s official video of the all-new 2024 Prologue electric SUV.

I think Honda designers did a fantastic job here. Not only this is a very nice-looking crossover, but it also has a totally different personality than the very closely related Chevrolet Blazer EV. Which I think is even harder to achieve for 2 different brands that are basically in the same price range. The proportions are great and it doesn’t seem as aggressive as so many modern designs. If priced right, I really think this could be quite a hit for Honda.

So far, they have said this is positioned above the new 2023 CR-V. Which already goes up to a bit over $40 000 in price. The larger Passport starts at around $39 000. The Prologue cousin, the Chevrolet Blazer EV will start at around $45 000. I don’t think Honda will offer an equivalent to Chevy’s base model. The Prologue might actually start at around $50 000. After incentives (It will be built in North America by GM) it could end up costing less than the current Passport. I can see the Prologue totally replacing the Passport after a year or two. (The same way the new Acura ZDX could actually replace the current RDX). A new Pilot is right around the corner. And we haven’t seen anything about a new Passport. It also seems Honda will push the new TrailSport offroad version of the Pilot, basically replacing the Passport Trailsport.

At least that’s what I think. Who really knows…

  1. This design is a bit generic. More so than even the ID4. And it’s the only new Honda that doesn’t share the new common design language. So basically it’s perfect for the average Honda buyer. It does seem like 5 passenger EV crossovers are going to replace the 5 passenger midsize crossovers. Similar size, similar price ranges.

  2. Clean and rational design doesn’t mean generic. They did a wonderfull job in details and proportions. The car transmit classy appeal with everyday functionality. A nice come back to the Honda origin.

  3. I agree this is a very nice design. And going back to Honda’s original simplicity.
But the proportions here are dictated by the GM platform. The general shape is very close to the Chevrolet Blazer EV.
Unfortunately, the “real” Honda proportions these days are displayed in the new CR-V or Pilot. Which are not nearly as good looking as the Prologue.

  4. I like the overall design. I’, not a fan of the speedometer/gauge cluster being a small screen against the info/entertainment screen. Better symmetry between the two would be preferred.
