2024 Hyundai Kona: more photos…

Hyundai release a few new photos of the new 2024 Kona. The photos themselves are actually pretty bad. Most look like the car is badly photoshopped onto a cheap-looking AI-generated background. On some, the Kona even looks like it’s floating over the ground. Really weird and unprofessional for such a huge company…
The Kona itself looks fine. Although it just seems like a rework of the previous generation. The rear end looks especially bad. The LEDs across the whole hatch do look really nice. But these huge hamster cheeks with the lights on both sides look pretty bad. It just doesn’t look modern or sophisticated at all. Especially when painted. At least the black plastic seems to hide these lights a bit. (I notice they released very few photos of the rear end.)
It seems Hyundai has 2 design teams. An A team who worked on the Ioniq 5. And maybe a B (or even C) team that was in charge of the new Kona. It’s just very busy all around. Maybe it looks better in the flesh, as they say. Who knows.
The new Kona is almost 6 inches longer. The ICE model comes with a 147HP 2.0 Liter engine with a CVT. Same as the current version. The Hybrid comes with a 1.6 Liter engine with a total of 139HP. Which sounds exactly like the 2023 Niro Hybrid. The 1.6 Liter Turbo produces 195HPP and comes with an 8-speed auto. No specs are available on the EV version yet.
Looks nice, much better than the previous gen.
