2025 Nissan Murano.

Last Updated:

The Nissan Murano has an all-new design, inside out, for the 2025 model year.

From what we can see it already looks very nice and modern. Of course, it seems influenced a lot by the recurrent Nissan Ariya EV which is not a bad thing.

A new Murano is not really early since the current generation was introduced 10 years ago.

Unlike the new 2026 Honda Passport, the new Murano is rumored to replace its smooth 3.5 Liter V6 with a 2.0 Liter Turbo. And ditch the CVT as well. Nissan’s current 2.0 Liter Turbo, produces just 236HP in the Nissan Altima SR. And a 268HP version for a couple of Infiniti models. I truly think they should keep the fantastic V6 with the newer 9-speed auto like they already offer in the Pathfinder.

Current generation sales numbers are falling every year since you know, this is a 10-year-old model. It was down to 27,660 units last year. Down from almost 87,000 in 2016. I am not sure why Nissan feels they do need a new Murano, since the segment isn’t the most popular. On one side you have increasingly larger and more “Compact SUVS” like the CR-V and others. On the other, larger 3 ros SUVs are getting more and more popular every year. It seems the Murano and its completion don’t have such a large following these days.

Using the same platform and engines already available in other models will of course offset R&D costs and it might be worth it. Who knows…

  1. I like it but don’t like it. The lights in front looks like a Hyundai product. Late into the game.
