Hyundai Ioniq 9.
Last Updated:
We finally get to see the full production version of the Hyundai Ioniq 9 EV SUV.
After seeing the concept 3 years ago, and tons of spy shots and illustrations here it is. And as predicted, it looks very close to the concept. Except for the wheel arches that are now more circular, the sculpted shape of the defenders is not. Which could look weird in real life…
The other big change is a larger rear-side window, which is good. At least that lady in the bottom photo can look out from the 3rd-row seat. Something she probably would not have been able to do in the concept. And that could’ve triggered something unpleasant.
As we know, this was supposed to be the Ioniq 7, until Hyundai decided they needed more space above the Ioniq 6 for more new models. Whatever it is called, I personally think it looks better than the Kia EV9. I also think it could be even more popular.
At least in these photos, the back seat seems very roomy, which is something I didn’t notice on the EV9 when I saw it in person last year. I also think the dashboard could have been more original. As it is it looks like a blend of any other Kia/Hyundai dashboards from the past year or two. A bit of a letdown here.
No specs yet but I will see the new Ioniq 9 in person in a few hours and will report soon after.
