Lexus ES.

While the current Lexus ES got a very mild mid-cycle refresh for the Chinese market, it seems the US model could see a few more changes.
Not something like the illustration on top, which shows what an all-new next generation could look like. But at least something a bit “newer” than the Chinese facelift, which keeps most of that controversial grille intact. Something that hasn’t been very popular in North America., and something Lexus seems to be moving away from. At least over here.
Our 2026 Lexus ES will just be like the 2025 Camry. Which is far from all-new. It seems Toyota is reluctant to spend much cash on new sedans these days. Even one that is still popular like the Camry.
Sales of the Lexus ES keep going down every year. To 39,000 last year. And probably even less this year with just over 33,000 sold so far.
Lexus is still hard at work on a new EV SUV. As well as new models previewed by the recent LF-ZL and LF-ZC concepts. (where do they get these goofy names anyway???)
So far in the US, there are 3 powertrains offered in the 2025 Lexus ES. Somehow the base one is the good old 4 cylinder with just 203HP. Which is pretty lame in a luxury sedan if you ask me. You can also step up the Hybrid model and the wonderful 3.5 Liter V6 is still available. However, you know that’s going away soon. And the Hybrid will probably be the only choice for 2026.
Let’s hope Lexus doesn’t completely give up on the ES…
