Let’s take another look at what the next-generation Toyota RAV4 for 2026 could look like. It could be a disappointment to many…
The illustration on top shows what a very similar design could look like. Something the various spy shots we have seen are already showing. However, these spy shots also seem to show a more squared-off rear end which is different from the illustration above.
One thing we already know is the front and of the new model will be all new and more inspired by the new Toyota Crown Signia than the current RAV4. But the rest of the design could still end up being very similar to what we have now. It won’t be like the 2025 Tesla Model Y which only has redesigned front and rear ends (as well as the interior). As Toyota might have spent a bit more money on new body panels while keeping most of the glass areas intact. Which is also something we can almost see in the spy shots.
Powerttrwins are rumored to be basically the same as the current model. Except for the Hybrid becoming the standard engine. With a PHEV option.
Toyota recently showed, again, their brand new 2.0 Liter engine that will mostly be used for electrification. This and a smaller 1.5 Liter version will eventually find a home in everything hybrid Toyota and Lexus make. It is now known yet if the new powertrain will be ready on time for the 2026 RAV4. Which would be real news for the popular model even if the design isn’t all-new. Since these new engines are rumored to be much more efficient and much more powerful than the current powertrains.
This is obviously a slight photo shop of a BZ4 and doesn’t match spy shots. I don’t understand why this stuff is posted sometimes when it is so obviously incorrect.
I remember when this site actually posted spy shots and news not AI renderings and wishful thinking.
