Acura RDX.

It looks like the production version of Acura’s Performance E Concept from last August will become the new Acura RDX for the 2026 model year. Which is both good and bad…

At first, it looks very different from the very stylish and dynamic concept. However, you quickly notice how similar these two really are. Except for the most important thing: proportions. While the concept seemed low and wide, the production model already looks tall and narrow. That could also be the angle of that particular photo, but it doesn’t look that great so far. This is a bad trend at Acura with the new ADX looking really tall and lumpy in real life.

The new RDX is also based on the same new Honda Platform as the o Series models coming soon. We saw prototype versions of these concepts at CES just a few days ago and they also looked much more modern than this. It makes you wonder how much the Honda models will be watered down when compared to the concepts and prototypes.

Acura will start testing prototypes of the RDX this week. Which means we will see plenty of spy shots really soon, showing different angles of the car.

No word on pricing yet but I suspect this will be priced below the recurrent GM-based ZDX. The old RDX was Acura‘s cheapest model when it was on sale decades abo. And I don’t think Acura would use that name for a very expensive new model. On another note, I think this new RDX actually looks more like the old ZDX than the new ZDX does…

The RDX will start production in Ohio later this year.
