Tesla Model Q.

Tesla Model 2. Model Q. Model C. Who knows what the next new Tesla model will be called? But apparently, something new is coming soon…
The rumors of a smaller new Tesla Model started as early as 2020. Back in 2023, crazy Elon Musk had mentioned it in his “Master Plan”. However, last year we heard it was canceled. Even though Musk has denied it. A version of the new platform it was supposed to use will be instead used by the CyberCab. Which is a 2-door hatchback self-driving car and not a “regular” new model below the Model 3.
Last October, Musk even referred to the possibility of a $25,000 new model as “pointless”.
Now we have more news about Tesla launching new “more affordable” models. “these vehicles will utilize aspects of the next-generation platform as well as aspects of our current platforms. They will be produced on the same manufacturing lines as our current vehicle line-up.“
This is pretty much the same thing they said last year. That seems to exclude the possibility of a cheaper discontented Model 3 and Model Y. Since these wouldn’t use “aspects of the next-generation platform”. There are now rumors of something new starting production before the summer.
Was the smaller Tesla not actually canceled after all? Just changed to be cheaper to produce with a higher price tag. Not the $25,000 Musk refers to as pointless, but maybe something still under $30,000?
If Tesla wants to grow, they need something more than just facelifts of their current vehicles. And something cheaper too, as it seems that market will just explode in the next few years. With cars like the new Kia EV3, and Volvo EX30. And upcoming Models like a brand new compact Honda EV based on the new 0 series platform. A new Chevrolet Bolt and more models from almost everyone else.
I know no one is talking about this. But how about a new Model S?
It could even be cheaper this time around. Tesla just mentioned they’ve lowered their average production cost to under $35,000. The Molde 3 sedan starts at around $42,000, how about a new larger sedan for about $55,000 this time around?
Making life tough for Lucid and upcoming rivals like the new Audi A6 e-Tron and Polestar 5.
