2026 Jeep Recon.

Last Updated:

The all-new 2026 Jeep Recon EV is right around the corner. And Jeep has even created a specific page for the new model on their site.

The Recon was revealed in late 2022. Mostly by a video and set of photos. Besides a few spy shots, we haven’t even seen the interior yet. And Jeep is still not showing it in these new photos.

I think the Recon looks great, and it could be quite a hit for Jeep. It is based on the STLA platform and does have a fully independent rear suspension. Which will be a huge improvement over the classic Wrangler for most buyers. You could basically almost get a Wrangler look with modern comfort. Which is really what many Jeep buyers want in the first place.

Just like the Wrangler, the Recon will have removable doors. And what looks like a version of the cool Sky Top open roof.

From what the site says, the car will be available in “late 2025”. But we will see it much sooner than that. So far, Jeep has a few generic PR platitudes about the Recon. Like: “The reimagined design, lush interior, and EV powertrain of the 2026 Jeep® Recon will allow you to take on the streets with style and ease.”

Or ” Find peace in the wilderness as adaptable cargo options, practical capability, and intuitive entertainment features let you find fulfillment in the far-off places.” And: ” All-electric freedom is almost within your grasp. Feast your eyes on the rugged style and intuitive features of the all-new 2026 Jeep® Recon.”

I can’t wait to see the new Jeep Recon in person. Of course, the first model available might be some overpriced “First Edition” version. But soon after, regular and less expensive trims will also be available. Just like the new Wagoneer S Limited priced at $5000 under the earlier loaded trim. Same thing with the 2025 Dodge Charger EV with RWD models coming.

No matter what the pricing is, leases will be a big deal, as they are for EVs. Currently, the $61,000 Dodge Charger R/T is already available for just $299 a month with $4600 down. The Recon could even be cheaper.

  1. Is it just the trend or does this scream Honda Passport-me too ? Same orange body color. painted tow loops. the headlights. I thought it was the Honda at first. Maybe that’s Jeeps new sales strategy…Look like something that doesn’t breakdown.
