2026 Nissan Sentra.
Last Updated:

One car we didn’t expect so soon is a newly redesigned Nissan Sentra. By the end of this year, the Sentra will be the “last man standing” of the Missan sedan team. Since both the Altima and Versa will not see 2026.
It’s hard to say from these photos if the 2026 Sentra will be a heavy refresh or an all-new design. The shape of the front hood seems very similar to the current model. The redesigned front end looks a bit more like the new 2025 Murano up front. Which is OK. But the rest of the car really doesn’t seem to bring anything new to the table.
A new design with very similar proportions. However, it does remind me a lot of another new Nissan model. The new N7 EV.

The N7 sedan is a new Nissan EV for the Chinese market and is not related at all to the new Altima. And yet, the greenhouse looks almost exactly the same. While the N7 looks pretty boring it does have a very clean design. Something the Sentra could use. maybe at the cost of losing some personality.
While they’re at it, why not introduce the US to their really cool e-Power Hybrid technology? This is something they’ve been producing and selling in other countries for years. Currently, the plan to introduce e-Power in the US is sometime late this year or early next year. That alone would give Nissan a good reason for a new Sentra. One that could really go against the Honda Civic Hybrid. With probably even better MPG.
Nissan is in a bad spot right now and they desperately need something to stand out. It looks like the new Sentra design might not really be that original at all, but the e-Power tech could save the day.
With over 152,000 sold last year, I’m sure Nissan dealers will be happy to see a new more modern Sentra for 2026. One that could be even more popular.
Size wise this is the Altima. Others are reporting this seems to be a next gen Altima despite potential cancellation and not the Sentra
Sorry. These “others” are wrong…
Why are they wrong? Because you said so without citing any sources…? lol.
Sad to see the Altima going. I would think the Altima would be a better selling product than the Kicks. They should’ve got rid of that instead.
This segment of car deserves fender skirts.
They can call it Altima sized. But if you look at the human heads inside, its Sentra sized. The Sentra isn’t a bad car. It has a good stance and the right price. Lets hope they dont make it too generic.
I am currently drving a Sentra SR. I had an Altima for a rental in Florida last month and a little more room in the Sentra would be welcome.
Looking at the size of the people, relative to the car… this is Sentra sized. Nissan needs to be very careful. The Sentra is currently popular enough that its bringing in cash the company really needs. And the currently model, while not exciting, has good proportions. Ruin those with awkward proportions, and sales will drop. Honestly, they should consider a refresh of the front and interior, and a new hybrid engine choice and call it a day. This N7 nothingburger reminds me of a cheap version of the Alfeela mess Honda made with Sony. THAT will be a massive fail.
Since it will be doing triple duty as Nissan’s only sedan, it would make sense for it to grow to be a bit more Jetta-sized.
They should have this and a Maxima EV.
I have an 2022 and an 2024 Sentra I love, the looks and interior
I looked at the Altima and it’s not worth it to pay more.the Sentra drives nice and it’s peppy and handles well.the sv with sports mode makes it handle even better, than the s model the. Steering is has an tighter feel less numbness.all the new cars the Camry,Corolla, civic have numb steering.
