2026 Nissan Sentra Teaser.

Last Updated:

As part of their upcoming new US models preview, Nissan also released a photo of the next-generation Sentra for 2026.

It’s hard to say from this teaser image if the 2026 Sentra will be a heavy refresh or an all-new design. The cut of the front hood seems very similar to the current model. The redesigned front end could end up looking a bit more like the new 2025 Murano. Which is OK. But the rest of the car really doesn’t seem to bring anything new to the table.

A new design with very similar proportions. However, it does remind me a lot of another new Nissan model. The new N7 EV.

The N7 sedan is a new Nissan EV for the Chinese market and is not related at all to the new Altima. And yet, the greenhouse looks almost exactly the same. The N7 EV does have a very clean design. Something the Sentra could use. Maybe at the cost of losing some personality.

We already know the next-generation Rogue will be Nissan’s for the US model offering the e-Power technology. I think this is something the new Sentra could use as well. Especially against the Honda Civic Hybrid.

Nissan is in a bad spot right now, and it desperately needs something to stand out. It looks like the new Sentra design might not really be that original at all, but the e-Power tech could save the day.

With over 152,000 sold last year, I’m sure Nissan dealers will be happy to see a new, more modern Sentra for 2026. One that could be even more popular.

  1. judging from the picture, there’s an ungainly look to the front and rear quarter panels – like a small person with huge shoulder pads. I hope I’m wrong and they haven’t screwed this up. The Sentra sells because its a) low priced and b) looks sporty.
