VW ID.Every1 Concept.

Last Updated:

This new VW concept is very cute and has a very nice design. And yet, it also shows what is currently wrong with VW…

A production version of the new VW ID.Every1 concept is scheduled to come out in 2027. That is 2 full years away from now. The top speed will be 81MPH. Which is actually fine for a small car that will mostly be used around town. But what is really not great is the expected 155 miles of range. It’s not great now and it will be pretty pathetic in 2027.

Of course, again, the new VW will be a small city car. And yet, the current Fiat 500 EV offers 199 miles of range. Even the new Mini Cooper EV, the new one not yet sold in the US, offers around 200 miles.

The larger ID.2All will launch next year with a base price of around $25,000 Euros. Something we might actually see in the US. A total of 4 new EV models will be based on the new MEB platform. (The other 2 are probably the new GTI and the ID.4all crossover.)

Here are some of VW‘s PR words about their future plans:

  • Advance: Strengthen competitiveness and expand the existing model range in a targeted manner. Coming next, the Volkswagen brand will give a further preview of the new Electric Urban Car Family in autumn 2025.
  • Attack: there will be nine new models by 2027 including the production version of the ID.2all for less than €25,000 and the ID. EVERY1 for about €20,000.
  • Achieve: Volkswagen aims to become the technologically leading high-volume manufacturer with the safest, most innovative and best-selling cars by 2030.

Whikleit looks great inside and out, the unimpressive specs of the ID.Every1 will be tough to overlook. 2 years is a long time and it is actually hard to even imagine where the Chinese completion will be in 2027.

  1. this is 100% not designed for or even likely to ever be imported into the US. This is a european city car. Though I would still say that commute distance is short.
