VW ID. Every 1 Concept.
Last Updated:

VW just released more teaser images of their upcoming new ID. Every 1 Concept. And it does look cute.
So far this seems like a really, really nice design for a small EV. It does have a VW feel to it without really mimicking any older VW designs.
As we already know the production version of this concept will be VW‘s cheapest EV when it comes in 2027, priced at around 20,000 Euros in Europe. Where it will compete with cars like the Citroen e-C3 and the upcoming retro-futuristic Renault Twingo, it seems Renault went “full retro” with the new Twingo while VW went for a cute but a bit more mature look. While the Citroen e-C3 is just plain ugly and cheap-looking.
This new VW won’t be the brand’s first new small EV. A slightly larger model based on the ID. 4all concept will come out next year at a based price of around 25,000 Euros. While there might be hope to see the larger model over here, I really don’t think we should expect the smaller ID.Every1 in the US. Since VW doesn’t even sell the larger ID.3 in North America.
VW says they now have a plan of attack to turn the company around. Here are a few quotes from the company:
Catch up: competitiveness is to be strengthened by optimizing cost structures and extending the existing model portfolio in a targeted way.- Attack: There will be nine new models by 2027 including the production version of the ID.2all for less than €25,000 and the entry-level electric car for about €20,000.
- Lead: as the technologically leading brand in the volume segment, Volkswagen is setting new standards and forging ahead with mobility throughout the world.
“Nine new models”. Probably means most of these will be for the Chinese market since only the 2 small EVs mentioned above have been mentioned for Europe.
Since VW is working hard at saving money, I really think the new Concept is a very close preview of the upcoming production car. Designing a very different concept would be a waste of resources.
