Future Lincoln Town Car.
Last Updated:

The last Lincoln Town Car built was a 2011 model. Or about 15 years ago. And somehow, it seems the good old Town Car still has many friends. That big classic American luxury car seems to be pretty popular in the used car market. Especially since there is nothing like it anymore available. They are also considered some of the most reliable used cars you can buy.
The Town Car was everywhere for many years. By the end, it had become the default car to be driven in as a step up to regular cabs. Many limousine companies used the Lincoln Town car as a base to build many stretched sedans. Now it seems this has all been replaced by huge GM SUVs like the Cadillac Escalade.
The big Lincoln sedan was produced from 1981 to 2011, through 3 generations. It represented an old-fashioned American idea of a luxury car and was never as modern or sophisticated as the foreign competition. But it was also much cheaper.
It seems there could still be a market for a new Town Car sedan in the EV age. With a new EV powertrain, it would easily be the most powerful and quietest Town Car ever. And probably much more comfortable than any of these huge body-on-frame trucks.
However, Ford seems to have paused the development of their upcoming large EV SUVs. And it might be difficult to use the current Mustang platform for a much larger new luxury car.
A new Town Car should still have that impressive, unapologetic big American sedan design. And yes, there should be chrome. And lots of it. A retro-futuristic big sedan design with all the convenience of modern tech.
I say why not…

I like how the render blends the modern Lincoln grille & light bar with the old waterfall motif.
I would definitely consider buying one if the price is not in the stratosphere
I definitely would be interested if they make one. I’m driving a F-150 Ford truck, and bought a used 1993 Cadillac 4 Dr sedan. Which I like but don’t love, I always love my Ford vehicle’s. To have brand new and made by Ford. Which has always been best car maker in the world.
It WILL be great news for Lincoln for the Town Car to return with a different but futuristic design. I wish it could sit up like the MKS , return to suicide doors, truck space, luxury colors, series additions (special design colors) keep the base under $100 thousand maybe top of the line could be more…& What about a 2 door hardtop convertible return of the MARK X
I still drive my 2006 Town Car, Signature Series. It is the smoothest-riding vehicle on the road. I recently purchased a Genesis G80 as an eventual replacement for my town car. However, I have now decided to keep the Town Car until Ford builds another one.
It’s about time I’ve owned 4MKZ hybrids and I don’t want a SUV switching brands. Goodbye Lincoln.
As far as i can remember back into my child hood as early as the 1980s, one of my uncles that raised me always owned a lincoln. The years ranged from the 1970s models up to the last one he owned a 2004 gold in color lincoln towncar signature series.i fell in love with lincolns because of him. At twenty five i brought my first one. It was a 1999 blue in color with a white leather top with a sunroof lincoln towncar. I loved everything about that car. I’m in school right now and soon to finish but one of the things I had told myself was I wanted to rebuild a 1971 Lincoln Continental with the suicide doors in memory of my uncle. I do hope lincoln makes a newer towncar as described in this article. I would buy it in honor of my uncle and for the love of those smooth riding Lincolns.
Please bring it back along with the Lincoln LT Pickup. I have an ’06 with 300,000 miles on it and I still love it!!!
I love the lincoln Towncar. Never been able to afford one. Especially the 1961 thru 1963 with the Coach doors. I loved them all but those were my favorites. Please bring them back. TRACY
