These illustrations of a possible 2026 Toyota Compact Cruiser are based on the patent image posted a few weeks ago. And they really look exactly like the patent images. Which is not great.
Sure, it does have that rough off-road look and personality. But unlike the Bronco Sport, it does look pretty rough and unfriendly. Which guess is what some off-road fans do like. That “smaller Land Cruser” look will probably be very popular.
We first saw a teaser of Toyota‘s upcoming smaller Land Cruiser model at the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser unveiling. Since, we have seen many illustrations trying to guess what the real thing could look like.
The patent image above shows the real thing. And it does look like a cross between the Land Cruiser, the FJ Cruiser, and the 4 Runner. But smaller. Which was expected.
It also looks a lot like the 2022 Toyota Compact Cruiser concept. However, back in 2022, the concept was an EV.
The official name is still a mystery. Toyota recently trademarked the name “name Land Cruiser FJ”. So, why not…
Same thing with the platform and powertrain. Although I would expect this to at least be a hybrid in the US. With a PHEV as an option. Or even an EV version available;e just like the new Lexus ES that is offered in both.
