Future Camaro video.

Of course, there is no such thing as a future Chevrolet Camaro. At least that we know of. And certainly not anytime soon.

The video above shows what a next-generation Chevrolet Camaro could look like. We already know GM is thinking hard about how to reinvent the old muscle car. Ford decided to use the Mustang name on a new EV SUV called the Mach-E a few years ago. And Chevrolet might end up doing the same thing.

However, Ford also decided to keep the classic coupe and convertible in production, with a redesign. Which didn’t work that well since, for over a year, the electric Mach-E has been far more popular than the redesigned Mustang.

Apparently, a new idea for a Camaro was presented last year and rejected. And they are still working on something. GM just wants to make sure the new model sells in decent numbers. And adding doors might be the key to keeping the Camaro name alive. These super low Mustang coupe and convertible sales numbers must be scaring GM…

Four doors can mean a lot of things. A sedan, an SUV, or even a wagon.

The video above shows a few ideas…

  1. I don’t know that four doors and a hatch always has to be the right formula. The Camaro got smaller, lower and with less of anything you could call a back seat. Chevy should try to make an actual coupe – one with a backseat that two or three people can actually sit in. And I dont mean toddler age children. And with a folding seat that let’s that car’s trunk expand to haul some longer items. If you have young people buy it, it needs to be flexible – and automakers always forget that part.
