New Buick Electra L7 sedan.

We just saw a concept of this, and here is the actual production car. A very important model for Buick since it is their first sedan in many years. Even if so far this is only for the Chinese market, where Buick is vastly more popular than in North America.

It is a very nice and very modern design. (Something that would have been a futuristic concept just a couple of years ago). An attractive, sleek sedan that seems ready to do battle against the many new EV and PHEV sedans coming out in China. It’s great to see GM not giving up and still being very competitive over there.

The first available model of the new Buick sedan is a PHEV with a 1.5-liter engine used as a range extender. A full EV version could come at a later date.

At 198 inches long, this isn’t a small sedan. It is about 2 inches longer than a Lucid Air. And almost exactly the same size as the 2019 Buick Lacrosse, the brand’s last sedan sold in the US.

From what GM was saying just a few days ago, the new Electra sub-brand will quickly grow with a brand new SUV and a new luxury Minivan. I wonder if there would be any market for a new Buick sedan in the US using a Range Extender, which sounds similar to what GM was doing many years ago with the Chevrolet Volt…

  1. When will Buick begin to make sedans available again in the United States? I can’t believe that they switched to manufacturing only SUV’s in the USA☹️

  2. When will they make sedans like the humongous Buick Roadmaster. That was. The last large sedan available. Roomy for 6 amd came with a large syation wagon. The rebranded Electra is a disgrace to the Electra name.

  3. Trash🗑️ @GM,@GeneralMotor get it in your pee brains not every American wanted a EV Car. Two, Buick Electric was a outstanding luxury car people wish up on,a beautiful land yacht and now you through this thing which don’t compare. Get it together GM Quick !!

  4. I’m a GM retiree who will never buy any Chinese made vehicles regardless of who makes it. The shame of it is they don’t make many nice affordable sedans ln the US. I guess if I really need a new car it won’t be a GM model.

  5. Appears GM has their head in the sand again missing market opportunities with this Electra wanna be and the new Cadillac 60. Having owned two park avenues, two Riviera’s and a Roadmaster wagon. plus a STS and a Eldorado Cadillac’s. Enjoyed everyone of them.

  6. 7. Please stop with the electric battery operated cars.
No interest and the price point is ridiculous.
Please next generation combustible engines or hybrids with long range capacity.
My father always had a Park Avenue. Come on Buick please think thru your strategy.

  8. Yes I see a few of you guys understand, yes they need to bring back something with style, the iconic dues and a quarter!!

  9. One big beautiful car!

All the dinosaurs complaining will eventually phase out just like combustible engines.
