Buick Electra Minivan.
Last Updated:

Buick has introduced a new minivan concept as part of their new Electra series. Which will include an SUV and a sedan.
The new Electra models are all using a new “Xiaoyao” architecture. These 2 new cars will only be sold in China. At least so far. However, I could really see the SUV or even the sedan come over to North America someday.
Buick also calls this the GL8 Concept. The GL8 has been a very popular model for Buick in China since 1999. The current version is a 4th generation and has been on sale since 2022. It looks like it will soon be replaced by the design we see above.
Minivans are a very popular body style in China, and many manufacturers offer them. Even Volvo has one that might actually make it to Europe later. Many of these look quite futuristic, and GM has to keep up against very modern designs. I think this new Electra Minivan is exactly what they need in China. A very futuristic-looking EV Minivan.
A far cry from the sad-looking Minivans we get over here. Except for the new VW ID.Buzz…
It’s hideous! China can keep it!

I have a question about Buick model offerings in the United States. I’ve been driving Buick’s since the 1980s. My question is why can’t we buy the Buick sedans any longer here in the US? I don’t like SUVs so I’m stuck. I have to look for another supplier now. Doesn’t Buick care? If the sedans are so popular in China and Canada, why can’t we have them in the United States any longer?
Ugly and electric – no thanks!!
Buick has some great looking cars in China, I would definitely drive this.
