Here area few more photos of the new generation Volvo XC70. As we already know, the new Volco is not a wagon anymore. it is basically another SUV that probably looks a lot like the next generation XE60. As it is longer than the current XC60, it does have a slightly more wagon feel to it. Although not as attractive as Volvo’s current V90 and V60.

The frameless doors are a departure from current Volvo models. It is also something featured in the Lynk & Co 08. As I mentioned earlier, the new Volvo CX70 and the Link & Co 08 are related models from the Geely family.

The design of the new SUV is very clean and instantly recognized as a new Volvo. I personally think it looks great so far. Ad so much better than the blaoted and sad-looking new ES90 “sedan”. Which looks more like a turtle than an expensive sedan.

No interior photos and not many specs have been released yet. The official EV range is 200km, or 125 miles in the local test cycle. Which again could still be almost 100 miles in the US. Beating everyone else in the segment. With fast charging, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80% in just 23 minites. Which sounds good, but that’s pretty much the same speed of a modern EV with a much longer electric range. Give or take a few minutes.

Let’s really hope Volvo finds a way to bring this over here. As it seems, the huge EV range (for a PHEV model) as well as the size would give them quite a hit in the US.
