Lucid has released a new photo that includes a teaser for their upcoming Lucid Earth mid-sized SUV.
The new model is supposed to start at under $50,000. Or almost half the price of the only version currently available of the new Gravity.
That will be a huge difference and an enormous challenge for Lucid. Producing a brand-new car for half price is not an easy task.
Lucid just released info on their new collaboration with NVIDIA. Which they claim will allow a “first level 4 autonomous EVs for consumers”. Basically, turning your Lucid into a Waymo. Anytime you want. Something Tesla has been promising and lying about for years.
A first step will be to introduce “point-to-point driving” in the Gravity. However, who really knows when the next step will actually be available? When it is, the new, smaller Earth model will likely be ready.
The new, smaller Lucid platform will soon offer 2 more models. One will be a new, smaller sedan. The other is a more off-road-oriented model that could actually be a version of the new Earth teased today.
A bunch of $50,000 Lucid models sounds great. I have recently been driving a Lucid Air twive, and it is quite an experience and something you don’t forget.
I can’t wait to see Lucid entering a more affordable market. This will be quite a fun battle between the Lucid Earth and the upcoming Rivian R2.
Lucid is in trouble. I don’t see many of the brand on the road. They need a smaller more affordable model to boost sales and get their name out there. I bet most drivers have never heard of the company.
