Lucid upcoming models.

After offering only one model, the Air sedan, Lucid recently added the new Lucid Grgavity SUV. So far, the Gravity has been getting stellar reviews from almost everyone. And as we all know, it takes an SUV to really make it these days.

However, there are still expensive cars. The cheapest Air sedan currently starts at $70,000. And the more affordable $78,000 version of the Gravity is not out yet.

Lucid did show a preview of a much more affordable new model a few months ago. I(Bottom image) It will probably be called the Lucid Earth and will start at under $50,000. Lucid claims it will not only compete against the Tesla Model Y but somehow, against the Model 3 as well.

Lucid has also trademarked the names “Ocean” and “Space”. As well as “Earth Dream Edition”. The Earth is scheduled to go on sale next year. Right on time to compete against the Rivian R2.

The other two new models are rumored to be a smaller sedan and a 2 door sporty coupe. The illustration above shows what such models could look like.

A new smaller and cheaper sedan would compete against new sedan models from Mercedes, Aud, and BMW. As well as the Model 3. It is unclear how bad the situation will get at Tesla, but it sure seems it will leave quite a void with plenty of customers looking for something else soon. Which could be great news for Lucid as well as Rivian.

  1. Nice blue car on top. Lucid and everyone is pushing to take advantage of Musk’s folly.

    I really think Honda should have bought into Lucid before the Saudis got involved. Lucid’s motor technology could have pushed Honda’s own development forward significantly by letting them concentrate on their new battery format. It would have also helped Lucid with their production efficiencies and costs. But Honda and its go-it-alone mentality just couldn’t help itself. Instead, they have the 0Series attrocity twins (now on hold).

  2. 2 door sporty coupe (Pictured in Blue) would be a dream come true if LUCID builds anything close to it. It will also likely be pricey but at least you might get one before Tesla offers it’s flying 2 door model. The $50,000 SUV might be their most important model, just like the new Rivian R2 model coming out next year as it will be a lesser expensive model with a nice array of options that won’t kill your wallet (let’s hope).
