Ford Bronco EV price.

Ford unveiled a brand-new Ford Bronco EV for the Chinese market a little while ago. It is not related to our regular Bronco or the Bronco Sport. This new model is larger than the Bronco by about 10 inches. And even a few inches longer than the upcoming new Scout SUV.
Speaking of the Scout, this new, larger Bronco would be the perfect vehicle to go against the new Scout SUV in the US. Just like the Scout, the new Bronco will be available as an EV or EREV. The EV is rated in China with a 406-mile range. The EREV uses a 1.5 Liter engine with 2 electric motors for a 137-mile EV range alone.
In China, the base model will start at the equivalent of $32,500. That’s right. Cheaper than our base Bronco Sport. The premium for EV over EREV is only about $1500. And the most expensive trim is priced at $38,500.
Tell me if I’m wrong, but that sounds like this new version of the Bronco could be a hit in the US. (even with much higher “adjusted” pricing). And I really do not understand why Ford has decided not to sell it over here. Since they do have plenty of factories to build it locally. And it’s ready to go! I mean, this is ridiculous…
Of course, Ford is quite desperate in China, where it is actually selling over 10 times fewer cars than it did back in 2014, which was their best year. They are down by over 90%! I can understand why that market gets the cool stuff first. But something like this really seems perfect for the North American market as well.
At least in a year or two…
