First official 2027 Kia Steltos teasers.

There is an all-new generation Kia Seltos coming out on December 10th, and these are the first official teasers from Kia.

So far, it seems to match many of the illustrations we have seen. However, the rear of the side view looks much better than most guesses I’ve seen before. It almost looks like a thinner, elongated Kia EV3. Which would be just fine.

However, I’m afraid that the huge black plastic front grille could be too much for a small car. Way too much. Since it is already unsightly on the new 2027 Palisade, I can only imagine what a much smaller car with something like this could look like. Maybe it works? Who knows.

Since the current generation was introduced in 2019 (2021 model year in the US), the new model is right on time. So far, the Seltos’ best year was 2023, with just over 60,000 of them sold that year. Which isn’t great but not bad.

On top of the regular trim, there will be GT-Line and X-Line models. There have been talks about a new Hybrid version being available as well. But of course, nothing has been confirmed yet. That would probably give a boost in sales. Otherwise, the next Seltos could end up being just another small SUV out there. No matter how big the grille is…
