2026 Hyundai Palisade Vs. 2027 Kia Telluride. VIDEO.

Both SUVs have been redesigned. The Hyundai for the 2026 model year, while we’ll have to wait a few months for the 2027 Kia Telluride. They’re both larger than ever with a more angular design. And I saw both in person a few weeks ago at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

I was surprised by how good and upscale the new Hyundai Palisade looks in person. It also has a fantastic interior. On the other hand, the Kia Telluride seems like a disaster to me. Which is a shame since the previous generation looked so good inside and out.

I guess this is a classic case of trying too hard. But it’s so wrong on so many levels. The front grille is the most serious insult. A huge plasticky, cheap-looking front end doesn’t really work on anything. The interior is also a few steps behind the Hyundai. And looks a lot like any other Kia model currently out there.

I personally predict the Hyundai Palisade will be much more popular than the new Telluride this time around. While they’re both big and square, the Palisade seems much classier and upscale than the big Kia.

  1. It appears as though the golden age of styling from Hyundai / Kia may be over. Many of their design “updates” are actually taking big steps backwards.

  2. that gruesome grill. oversized. and cheap. Just like Shelly Winters… what a mouth she had on her.

  3. I prefer the new Telluride exterior. Front and back over the Palisade. Only the Telluride with the non blacked out front grille looks modern and good to me, however.

  4. I agree that the new Palisade looks much better than the new Telluride. I disagree that the new Palisade is an improvement over the first gen version from a design perspective. The first gen Palisade had much more character and looked more upscale compared to the new gen version. The new Telluride is a design disaster. The first gen Telluride has a very subdued upmarket look which made it a very desirable vehicle. There’s nothing remotely desirable about the second gen Telluride.
