2027 Lincoln Corsair: Back From the Dead. Via China.

The Lincoln Corsair died last year and is already making a comeback. After announcing the larger Nautilus production would move back to the US, Lincoln decided to sell the Chinese made Corsair over here for the 2027 model year. Go figure..

The US Nautilus production move back to the US is not for tomorrow. It will be the next-generation model coming out in 2 or 3 years. However, the timing of the Chinese Corsair being sold in the US is rather strange. Just a few days ago, Ford CEO Jim Farley was making a valid point for bringing production back in the US (or anywhere else really) since they are facing an almost comical 52.5% tariff. Which does make sense.

But what a bout a Chinese Corsair? I would guess it is still subject to the same crazy tariffs. This makes no sense at all.

The Corsair we are getting from China is a revised, mid-cycle refresh. With a new front end that resembles the 2027 Nautilus, and a new rear design. However, the interior is basically the same and not at all as new and upscale as the Chinese version (bottom pic). Why? Who knows.

It seems China will now build a second version of the Corsair just for the US. One without the updated interior. What we are getting is a standard AWD and Hybrid powertrain. A 2.0 Liter Hybrid with 305HP. Which sounds good. And better than the previous 2.0 Liter with 250HP.

The Corsair is now about $5000 more than the 2026 model. Which makes it for a pretty expensive Hybrid system. Although AWD is now standard.

The current Corsair came out in 2019. That’s quite a while. I’m not sure a new Hybrid powertrain will make up for the big price hike.

Speaking of hike, destination fee went from $1495 to $2295…
