2027 Jaguar Type 01: A Different Take.

Jaguar is getting ready to introduce the all-new Type 01 sedan next month. It is not only a new car, but a total reinvention of the brand. A totally new path for Jaguar. Let’s see what might have happened if Jaguar had not decided to “go nuts’ and throw away 104 years of fantastic designs.

I personally cannot wait to see the final design of the Type 01. We have already seen the interior, and I do think it is pretty stunning. I especially like the lack of a large screen. Which is just refreshing these days. At least, it is an interior design I haven’t seen before. Just like what tesla had done with the Model 3. But i also think Jaguar could have been inspired more by its glorious design past.

The future success of Jaguar will rest in the hands of one of the most controversial car designs in recent automotive history, and that is a huge gamble. While the Tesla Cybertruck ended up being a big flop, selling about 20,000 units a year instead of the “over 250,000” that had once been promised—Tesla still has much more popular models like the Model Y and Model 3 to rely on. Jaguar will have nothing else. Just a super strange looking sedan that re-invents everything. At least until a new SUV comes out.

The images above shows what a different, still very modern, design direction for a new Jaguar sedan could have looked like. maybe something a bit more expected from Jaguar fans.

Reactions to the concept have been mostly negative, which is not good news for Jaguar. However, journalists from around the world have been able to drive the running prototypes and reviews were mostly great. So there’s that…

Just like the Cybertruck, it will be a car people notice immediately among the sea of traffic around them.

Let’s just hope the novelty and surprise last longer than they did for Tesla.

  1. Cool looking concept, even though the front end design could use a bit more character. It is much sexier and appealing than what Jaguar actually has planned.

Jaguar had a hard time competing against the German luxury mainstays (Mercedes, BMW, and Audi). I can’t imagine it being successful trying to move upmarket to compete against ultra luxury brands like Rolls-Royce and Bentley.

  2. 100%. They threw everything out instead of refining it for a more modern aesthetic. And showed the world a featureless oversized brick that no none wants.
