2029 Acura Integra Hybrid Preview.

Acura gave the Integra very small changes for the 2026 model year. Small modifications no one has even noticed. While a brand new Honda Civic is due at the end of this year, or early next year, a brand new Acura Integra could very well follow around a year later.

A new Integra generation would, of course, be based on Honda’s new Hybrid platform that the next Civic and the new Crosstour will use. As well as the new Acura RDX.

Acura just released a new concept a few weeks ago called Nexera Vision Concept. Unfortunately, the next Integra could end up being a much more conservative-looking car, in true Honda fashion. One that would look much more like a lower sedan version of the next RDX. A much more conservative car than anything based on the Nexera concept would be. Which is what the illustrations above try to show.

The current Integra was a really good idea. Unfortunately, except for a completely different design and a standard hatchback, it doesn’t offer much more than a loaded Honda Civic, for quite a bit more money. It does look fine, but not that fantastic either. It also seems to age pretty quickly. Acura designers actually did a pretty good job with what they were given to start with, the current Honda Civic hatchback. Which is, in my opinion, one of the worst looking Civic ever. 

There was a report a few months ago about Honda delaying a few new models, including the next-generation Accord, Odyssey, as well as the next Integra. Bad news, but it also means they are working on a new Integra. And this time around, it really would need to offer a Hybrid powertrain as standard. One with more power than the Civic. The new platform will also offer AWD. Probably as an option on the Civic. But probably standard on the new Crosstour. Something that should really be standard on the next Integra as well.

Honda is desperate for cash these days but going cheap on the Integra or Prelude doesn’t even make any sense. Sales of the compact Acura sedan have come down to about 20,000 units last year. A modern, good looking, slightly upscale Acura sedan should be much more popular than this. Maybe something a bit larger.
