Is this our best look at the new Jaguar sedan yet?

At first, these illustrations seem to be very close to the real thing. The all-new Jaguar EV sedan, coming out in just a few months, will be the production version of the Jaguar 00 Concept.

However, a profile view of an actual prototype seems to show an even more angular design for the production version. Especially around the rear doors. The rear fastback design also seems different. With a shorter front hood as well.

The Concept version of the all-new 00 Sedan was revealed exactly a year ago, in December 2024. Its production debut has been pushed back a bit to 2026. Although its base price is still rumored to be around $130,000. Which isn’t that insane these days.

Reactions to the concept have mostly been pretty negative. Which is not good news for Jag. However, it looks like the production car will not look as crazy as the concept. I guess showing the concept over a year early was part of making sure most people get used to the unorthodox shape. Helping the production design to be more acceptable to the masses. Well, at least the few who will actually buy one.

Jaguar has recently allowed a few journalists to ride in a couple of prototypes, and the “reviews” have so far been great.

This will undoubtedly be an amazing luxury sedan.

  1. If ever a car deserved Vince’s favorite modifier “ghastly”, this is it. Just awful from front to back; generic and lazy design.

  2. Is it the BEST view if I can still see this thing? Its still ugly and they do it no favors by insisting upon this pink-purple color, which tells me their marketing group has no sense. As such, is anyone taking this Jag seriously? It’ll be a land-yacht with no interior space just like the Acura TLX was, except this one will come with a brick face and an additional digit on the price tag. It’ll sell dozens.

  3. Transitioning to a purely electric lineup may have undermined Jaguar’s claim to high-end luxury. With the rise of affordable battery technologies, EVs are destined for the mass market. True luxury, however, thrives on scarcity and mechanical soul. Just as mechanical watches transitioned from “obsolete” tools to multi-billion dollar luxury symbols in the wake of the quartz crisis(i.e. Rolex, Patek Philip, ICE vehicles are poised to become the ultimate status symbol of the future. Jaguar had a unique opportunity to pivot away from the trend; by doubling down on a signature V12 engine, they could have captured the high-ground of “unapologetic exclusivity” rather than following the crowd toward electrification.
