2029 Chevrolet Camaro Wagon: the Final Insult?

A wagon version of the next-generation Chevrolet Camaro would be the final insult to many Camaro fans. And yet, we already know the next generation will be offered with a 4-door version. And probably a 6-speed manual and a V8 as well. It seems a slick long-roof version of the Camaro could attract more new buyers than haters.

And yes, a new Camaro sedan is probably on its way. A blasphemous thought to many hardcore fans, but one that could probably end up being quite popular. It will still have RWD and a V8 option. But how about a wagon? It seems GM will try to make the Camaro more popular than the last generation, and new body styles could be the answer.

As you can see from the images above, Chevrolet was already thinking about a wagon version of the Camaro back in 1970. Of course, the prototype had only two doors, since GM wasn’t thinking of adding doors to the Camaro. Yet. It’s a very different story in 2026. We live in a world where 2-door coupes are a dying breed, and they have been for a while. A world where the Ford Mustang Mach-E is more popular than the classic Mustang Coupe and Convertible.

Of course, anything that doesn’t look like a 2-door Camaro with a V8 will be condemned by the few hardcore fans the Camaro has left. I personally can see the point of a Camaro sedan. One with a semi-concealed hatchback similar to the Dodge Charger. Something that would bring a lot of practicality to the Camaro. And probably many more buyers.

I am not sure about a wagon. (especially if the sedan already has a hatch). Since it seems that wagons are even less popular than 2-door coupes in the US
