2019 Hyundai Veloster
Last Updated:
The cute little Veloster is getting a second generation.
And it does look pretty nice. A little bit more aggressive than the previous one. But again, the second time around, things are not as original.
It is powered by a 2.0 Liter engine with 147HP. So not a super sporty car here. But it should be plenty for most tasks.
If you need more, there is a 1.6 Liter Turbo available with 201HP.
6 speed manual and 7 speed auto are available.
For these requiring even more. The new Veloster is now available as an “N” model.
It gets 275HP from a turbo version of the larger 2.0 Liter engine.
The new Veloster will be available in the spring.
After seeing more pics of the N Performance model, I am liking this much more. The etched lines on the side might be a little over the top, but I do think it is an improvement.
This car is a reincarnation of the Mazda MX-3 Precidia.
The original Veloster was never a good-looking car, and this new version doesn't improve on that.
I was never a big fan of this car, but the first gen car looked better and had much more character.
Maybe Hyundai and Kia need some new design direction. They seem to have lost their mojo.
I'm sorry, this is as hideous as the original. It's just a new hideous.
It would sell better if they added one more door.
Considering just how many changes they made to this vehicle, including moving it up to the next size platform (from Accent to Elantra), I'm truly amazed how little the styling evolved/improved.
Nothing special here. Let's move along.
At least, unlike the Forte, it doesn't look worse. I was getting scared there for a while.
Nice!
