Buick Avista Concept
Last Updated:
This looks really nice. In a classic sort of way.
It does feel a little bit generic. Much more so than the great Avenir concept from last year.
Although on some pictures (rear view) it does look quite aggressive…
Apparently this is based on the Camaro/ATS RWD platform.
And the crazy concept interior is telling us that we’re not going to see this as a production model any time soon. Which is too bad.
The design could be a preview of the next Regal/Insignia. Especially the front part.
(Although these models will have 4 doors and FWD)
The concept is powered by a new 3.0 Liter V6 Turbo with 400HP and an 8 speed Auto.
How do you know that because of a futuristic interior we won't see the real version anytime soon?
We saw the Continental switch from concept to production in less than a year, Turkey Boy!
Buick Camaro….why not?
if the people at GM had any brain cells they'd build this thing and sell it for $55,000.
But they don't. So they'll put a corny version of this grill and those cool headlights on the next FWD turdbox and tell you it's a new euro-car. And there they will languish, continuing their existence on the periphery of the market.
1st two pictures looks like a 2-door Tesla Model S to me…IMHO
Beautiful shape.. could even be a Monte Carlo.. but why should a Buick resemble a Camaro? It's very similar to how much the new LaCrosse shape resembles the Malibu.
The 2 door market is essentially dead, and the 2 door sporty RWD Buick market is even smaller. The only purpose of this is to get everyone to click links with "Buick" in the title.
Ok.
A little generic, but no less stunning. I like it.
This could be the return of the Riviera! Alpha is clearly the platform ready for it.
That said, though handsome, this piece looks like Mazda's answer to the Genesis coupe.
