2016 Acura ILX
Last Updated:
The picture on top is the revised ILX for 2016.
It does look more aggressive. With the mandatory LED headlights.
We also know that it will get a new engine with more power.
I guess Acura is making an effort to better compete with cars like the Audi A3. Which is good.
Looks like the shield grille is finally getting some modification.. even if it is morphing back into a simple single-bar motif.
too low in the front. it's practically touching the ground which isn't very practical.
^ There is a fog machine in play here….the car isn't really close to the ground like that.
I think these changes will most definitely be for the better to win back some Verano and A3 sales! The whole front end is different, even including the hood!
Not much of an effort. It looks like a civic.
The revised ILX front end for 2016 looks much better. (But that wasn't saying much.)
In the top pic, is that haze of smoke from a burning clutch?
looks nearly identical, aside from the headlamps and a minor evolution of the bar, which remains ugly and stupid.
so overall, still super boring and forgettable. Good job Acura!
Here's the reality of the situation for Acura with this model: if all they've done is alter the front end and some minor amenities, its still going to circle the drain. This update has to separate itself by more than new headlights and another infotainment screen inside to get anyone to give a damn. More to the point, Acura isn't stretching far enough to keep from becoming a mere footnote in the car wars.
I think Honda/Acura is just killing time until they can find a buyer.
