  7. '11 Subaru Outback Limited
    All the features I need for a daily driver and tons of room for the kids stuff. Decent milage, nice ride, and in my opinion one of the better CVTs on the market.

  10. '11 Q7 3.0 TDI – Loving it, getting almost 30mpg highway driving (mostly my weekend car);
    '11 Q5 2.0T – wife's care. Nifty and easily zipped in and out vehicle! Getting over 24mpg overall.
    '11 Nissan LEAF – Daily commute car! 1000 miles now and I spent ~ $10 so far to charge the car.

  15. Don't laugh, 2009 Saturn Aura XR. Surprisingly the more I drive the more I like it. The six speed makes a big difference!

  17. 2007 Infiniti g35s sedan, auto, fully loaded. (dislike the cheap rubbery plastic on the door panel that gets scratched so easily.)

  23. Same as last year, 2005 Peugeot 307 HDi (I am in Europe). Probably will keep it for at least another couple of years. It's quite reliable (except for an electrical glitch which forces us to replace the headlight bulbs often, but they're cheap) and very frugal. It does 5,5 litres per 100 km, which translated to your parlance works out to 42 mpg.

  28. 11 Infiniti G37x, 22 city with 330 HP not too bad actually. Great interior, very well designed. Very good performance, still not quite as fun as the BMW 335.

  36. 2008 Nissan Altima 3.5SE
    After several years of owning it, not a fan of the CVT feel, ride is way, way too stiff, lots of engine noise.
    On the plus side, no mechanical issues after 50,000mi, and AC is very cold.

    That Saab just doesn't get old, surprisingly. I drive a lot of rentals through work, and I am always glad to get back to my "real" car.
    How can a car that was built 10 years ago be faster, more economical, better handling and tighter than almost any new car? Beats me, but I'm definitely not complaining.

  41. I am driving a treadmill… Seriously, I work from home and I have a treadmill desk that lets me walk about 10 miles a day while working.

    I've been a telecommuter for 4 years now. I sold my 2006 Mustang GT a couple of years ago because I simply don't need a car. I miss my Mustang but I don't miss the $500 a month payment.

    My wife drives a 2010 Chevy Equinox LTZ. It's a pretty kickass car for what it is.

  42. A VW Golf IV from 2001, which is less exciting but more reliable than the similar-sized Fiat Stilo I drove before. An unagitated car.

  44. 2000 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab. It has 78,000 miles and is a great little truck (I only wish that it got better gas mileage). Ford is making a huge mistake by not selling the new Ranger in the U.S.

  46. I ride my bike to work when it is not raining. Otherwise I drive a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD with the Duramax. The best mileage I have achieved without towing is 19 MPG. Just made a 8 hour trip to Michigan's Upper Peninsula towing a camper and averaged 11 MPG. Not too bad considering the camper weighs 6,500 lbs and had 5 people and gear.

  50. 2011 Ford F150 4×4 ECOBOOST. Great power and fuel economy is ok at 16mpg with mostly city driving. I really like how quiet it is and the ride isn't as bad as I thought it would be in a truck.

  53. 2009 nissan Versa 1.6 with AC and ABS. As a car it's very numb and boring. As a financial decision, it was one of my best I have ever made. My old car got 28mpg and required premium, this car gets me 40 on average and 46mpg has been my highest. With gas over $4 a gallon and the fact that I drive 32k miles the money saved in gas pays the car payment. So it's practically a free car.

  54. 99 Miata anniversary series with 6 spd manual during the summer, 08 Saab 9-3 turbo with 6 spd manual during the Wisconsin winter months.

  55. 2004 Saturn Ion Quadcoupe. Except for regular maintenance, the car's been bulletproof! It's got 106,000 miles on it and still runs as new!

    508RWHP, sounds like rolling thunder at WOT but quiet cruising, and will run 11's all day long.

    Picking up a lightly used (8,000 miles) '09 Arctic White S65 AMG in Florida this Saturday. The seller, who had no idea what he was doing, undervalued the vehicle by a large amount. Using the savings for modifications…

    I've already got a full exhaust on the way, and I'm stopping by Renntech's HQ in Lake Park on the way back for installation of their Package 2 and a IC upgrade. This vehicle will also be 100% decatted My goal is 620+WHP and for it to run low 11's to mid 10's.

  62. Me – 2001 Jaguar S-Type V8. Smooth, quiet with good power and handling, and its been trouble free.
    Her – 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe V6 Limited. Great car for those who want an excellent compact/midsize CUV but don't care about impressing people.
    The Kid – 2002 Mazda Millenia. Great looks and handling with factory 17" wheels but not too quick with the base 2.5L V6 – perfect for a young driver.

  67. 2002 Toyota Corona (Avensis in the european market), 2.0 l, makes about 28mpg city / 35mpg highway. Love it!

  78. Alfa-Romeo Giulietta MultiAir.
    Glued to the road, beautiful, 170bhp from a 1.4 turbo with tonnes of torque, 7.5s to 60, and 40mpg. One of those outstandingly great cars that you are deprived of in the States.

    Me: 2003 CR-V EX with 190,000 trouble free miles

    Wife: 2010 CR-V EX-L with 8,000 miles. She drives a LOT less than I do.

    Son: 1997 CR-V EX (my old one) with 285,000 miles, seriously. It has needed nothing other than some wear items replaced and regular maintenance. It has gone to hell and back and still runs fantastic, burns NO oil.

    Daughter: 2000 CR-V EX (wife's old one) with 80,000 miles. My son is obviously jealous but hell hath no fury like Natalie's scorn.

    I hope to get the new CR-V that is coming out soon to replace my beloved '03 which will go to my son if he wants it, and the '97 will sit for a couple of months until my second son gets his license (hes 14). It will be my family's 5th CR-V. They NEVER break down, best cars ever.

  102. I have a 2012 Ford Focus Titanium with every option.

    It handles extremely well, and I actually like the transmission. It replaced an 06 Civic Si… Yes, I use the active park assist feature and it makes parallel parking much quicker and prevents you from curbing your (in this case 18") rims. Worst MPG 23.0 / best MPG 44.5

    Mine – 1997 Honda NSX-T (swaped the badge to the original non-US version) All stock, all sweet. Bullet proof daily driver.

  110. 2011 Subaru WRX STi hatch and a 2006 Honda Civic LX coupe. I use the STi for when I'm home and I use the Civic for traveling to and from work, which is 8 hours of driving each way. It gets much better mpgs.

  120. 2011 Chevy Volt when my wife doesn't take it, our other car is the 2011 Nissan Leaf. Our Volt has right at 5000 miles now and we are at a "Lifetime mpg" of just over 100 mpg. Our home is fully solar PV equipped and we have ZERO electricity use charges even charging BOTH cars regularly.

  124. Not each day, I work a 10 day rotation that is 8 hours away from where I live. The 4 days that I have off are when I drive my STi. Sorry about that, I should have stated it a little more clearly.

    Great car with 108,000 mainly trouble free miles. No significant mechanical issues with only routine maintenance (Praise Jesus!). Oil changes every 5,000 miles (although 3,750 is recommended). Body integrity is pretty solid too, suspension is like new. Only odd fix was to replace brake switch for the push-button start, but that was under warranty.

    Excellent car and am actually sold on the CVT. Smooth, efficient, and CVT makes 4-cylinder reasonably fast.

    mine: 2004 Mazda3 closing in on 200,000 miles and not a single problem.

    wife: 2007 Mazda CX-7 90,000 miles and not a problem.

    I believe the story. My neighbor has had 3 of them himself, one of every generation for the exact same reason.

    Hondas are the most reliable vehicles manufacturerd according to Consumer Reports and JDPower so they aren't crap. I love my Mazdas too much to switch over though but I've never had a problem with my 6 madzas

  144. Several, mostly convertables. But the ones I spend almost half my driving time in (because they're so darn practical) are a couple minivans we bought new in '06 & '99 One is a Town & Country with 201,000 miles/6th oil change and 8th set of tires but so far no maintanence/repairs (except for a radiator flush at 120k) in spite of sitting outside every winter in the snow. The other a Grand Caravan (keep it in FL) that looks like new (except for where my wife backed into it with another car). I keep wanting to trade up to the latest styling but my wife says if I do that I can't buy other (more fun) vehicles at the same time (like a Shelby Mustang right now); so they just keep lumbering on. She points out that they're the only ones that sit outside all winter–and start every time.(the T&C when its 20 below up north; & the Dodge no matter how hot it gets in FL). (Not really true though, the '09 BMW vert is just as reliable and sometimes it sits out too.) But for hauling kids, lumber, friends, bikes, and trailers under 3800lbs nothing is easier to use or more reliable. And I don't have to empty them out all the time because there's plenty of room. The practicality is pretty addictive. Wish all my 'verts were as dependable and low-maintainance. Kinda ironic that the 'Verts make me FEEL "care-free" but the minivans actually ARE "care-free".

    2011 Ford SVT Raptor SuperCrew is my weekend warrior, what a vehicle! I just purchased it last Tuesday and the reactions it gets is amazing. Def well worth the money!!

  161. Me: 2004 Infiniti FX35 with 103,000 miles. Great SUV, a little thirsty, but I would but it again. By the way, I hate the new remodeled FX's. They look cartoonish to me.
