What could have been: 1960 4 door Cadillac Convertible
Last Updated:
Apparently, they were really thinking about it.
Going so far as to actually building at least one fully functioning model.
I guess something didn’t work after all.
It wasn’t meant to be…..
I've always thought it was interesting that Cadillac and Lincoln split the convertible market during that era – Cadillac only built 2 doors and Lincoln only built 4 doors. Almost like a mob family.
Where is the rudder to steer that boat?
I'll bet that chassis flexes like a giant rubber band.
Torsional rigidity?? What's that?
Would have been a great automobile. Wonder if rumors of this are what prompted Ford to build the 4-dr Lincoln 'vert.
Kinda pathetic that we can't seem to build a Stylish, roomy, smooth-riding 4-dr 'vert today –with all of todays technology! So sad.

BS. It's call giving up.
Succuming to the dictateS of Big Brother.
If you can make a frail minicar at all save you can CERTAINLY do it 10 times better with a REAL CAR.
Of course you'ld have to get back to 3% unemployment and raise the standard of living to 1960's-1980's USA standards for the average Joe to be able to afford a high-style ride once again!
Have you seen Michael Moores documentary on Capitalism?
Explains alot.
Have you seen Michael Moores documentary on Capitalism?
Explains alot.
Explains a lot about Michael's psychotic episodes in hotel bars; and why he lives like an Imperialist Pig–but not much about the rest of the real world.
My thought for the day on Mikey:
How many Michael Moores can you fit in the trunk of a '60 DeVille?
Where is this car now?
Is it for sale?
If so, how much?
Apparently, they did (or at least somebody) did build several per year from 1959 through 1970. There are pictures on internet. I had the chance to buy a 1966 4 door DeVille……..regret not buying it to this day.
