2012 Hyundai Accent/Verna Hatchback
Last Updated:
These are official pictures of the new small hatchback from Hyundai.
Not bad looking, considering the price.
Engines offered in China will include a 1.6 Liter with 124hp. Similar to what we should see here next year.
On a related note, Hyundai is planning to build up to 1 million cars a year in China alone by 2012.
Pretty amazing number….
OMG………..that IS the ford fiesta.
More evidence that Honda is going down in flames. Great looking hatch.
I didn't care for the sedan version, but this little 5-door actually looks pretty cool. I think Hyundai will make an impact on this segment with the 5-door version. It's just as attractive as the Fiesta 5-door and much better looking than anything else it its segment.
Maybe they could make the back window a bit smaller.
A chinese Ford fiesta knock off. Put the two cars side by side, compare all angles , Fiesta was sitting in the room with these "car design thiefs"
The same common design has infiltrated so many brands. The new Accent looks the same as the hatch version of the Fiesta, Focus, Cruze, Imprezza, the new Alfa Guiletta, Kia Forte, opel Astra, etc…
Time to move on guys!!
Pointing out when companies like hyundai/kia, most chinese, toyota copy design innovators like BMW, Ford, Chrysler, Fiat, Jaguar and a couple others remains important because:
1. Shaming goes along way, maybe they will change their stripes
2. Acknowledging the companies that push the design envelope is a good thing or all the vehicles would look like russian, chinese, korean, japanese cars of 15 years ago
3. People who buy the cheaper knock offs need to know, good design costs money
4. It is the right thing to point out for those creative enough to create cool stuff
I want a chinese knock-off of a Ferrari F430 at $20K…No shaming from me…Ever. Amazing how poor little people try to defend over-priced stuff.
Higher US gas prices are going to drive more sales of smaller cars, so the new Accent is just in time. Because the latest new Hyundai models are greatly improved over older models, I expect no less of the Accent. I hope it sells like hotcakes–good for the US as well as Hyundai.
