Chrysler decided to get rid of the Sebring name after all.
No big loss, after what they did to it.

The 200 is still not a new car. It is the revised Sebring were were expecting for 2011. So, a new front, rear , interior and the new V6.
No word on the rest of the car, or if they have a competitive smaller engine to use in it.
Most everyone now has a great 4 cylinder engine…

  5. The biggest problem in my opinion is the Sebrings awkward profile, from the A-Pilar to the C-Pillar, the shape of the windows, etc. and based on the last picture it looks like the overall profile remains, so this is a big waste of time in my opinion.

  6. Will hold final judgment until the full package is revealed … but ditching the ruined Sebring name is an excellent beginning. Bring on the other pics, Vince. 🙂

  8. I have'nt been following the development of this vehicle….I thought it was going to be all new…..but I guess not. All the "new" stuff looks pretty good. The grill, headlights and tail lights all look pretty good. But I'm afraid it's going to look very weird with the old body/frame. The door frames and the black spacer on the c pillar still look like crap. They should have put all the new tidbits on an all new vehicle. This will receive the same criticism that the new Ford Fusion has received with its new front and rear with the old body, only worse I'm afraid. Then again it may look good with the improvements…We'll see I guess.

    However, IF they can pull off the interior in a decent manner, and somewhat mute the ugliness of the original – this might be an ok solution until the next gen shows up.

    I dunno – they've said new handling, new tranny, new engine and these pic's don't look hideous….

  11. These shots look good, but to hear that it's still going to be on the same old miserable platform is very disappointing.

    If Chrysler can do with the Sebri… ahem, the 300, that Chevrolet did with the Impala, then it will be a huge improvement. If people remember, The previous generation Impala was beyond hideous. The current Impala, based on the same platform, is a best seller. Still not a great car, but not a rolling joke anymore.

    Anyway, the teaser shots that I see here look good.

    Even if the interior is fantastic, which I doubt, that profile is still a tough sale…

  13. Being in the driver's seat better feel 100% better than the current one or no sale. I don't understand that big slope of plastic the seatbelt holds onto in the seat, extremely uncomfortable.

    Who am I kidding, I'd rather drive a CAMRY than the current Sebring….pretty sad.

  14. Good grief, I can already see some sort of tacky plastic chrome appliqué on the equally tacky black plastic corner of the C-pillar. Will Chrysler ever learn?

    The current Sebring is HISTORY!

    And this 29MPG beauty with it's "soft-touch" dash & door panels, 6-speed tranny, Buick-like levels of NVH (not merely LexusLike — but BUICK-like! LED tail lights & HID Projector headlights is nothing short of phenominal (as "mid-term freshinings" go). I guess the seats are pretty upscale too–instead of the old benches that were somewhere between those in a Venza & a Crosstour) Pretty impressive Chrysler, Pretty impressive indeed!!!

  16. I drove a Sebring as a rental last year. Probably the worst car I've driven since the 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix, also a POS foisted on me by a rental agency.

    I feel bad for Chrysler employees and the American taxpayers (including myself) who bailed the company out. It's hard to see this car being sold at a profit to anyone – who would buy it except fleets, at cost or at a loss?

    Start at AllPar.com. Then read some mags (start with the Wall Street Journal & Automotive News) Then talk to your local Chrysler dealer. That's what I did. And while you're there, sit inside a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland to experience the new standard at Chrysler. I believe you'll be impressed. I was. Anyone want to buy my 2008 3-series? I just found a midsize I like better. (Waiting for the 'vert though).

    Shockingly a Chysler dealer told you it was a good looking car?!

    I'm not saying the Cherokee is bad – in fact I think it is outstanding.

    All I'm saying is I'll hold judgement until I see the real deal.

    IF they can pull off on the Sebring / 200 what they did on the Cherokee – then fantastic, they'll have a winner. However that would require something of a miracle.

    Serge is a great leader (he's Canadian – of course he's great)…however he isn't a miracle worker….

    What exactly are The Wall Street Journal's and AUTOMOTIVE NEWS's "vested interest" in Chrysler????

    For that matter, "Allpar" is an indepentant group that has never had any connection with Chrysler or Mopar. (They may be connected to other websites that deal with other specific "fan of a brand" audiences– like GM or Honda; feel free to check further yourself.

    Sonata turbo with 274HP will get better mileage than this, and MARK MY WORDS will outsell it.

    Chrysler is irrelevant now. They should have folded instead of taking bailout money. All they have brought us SINCE the bailout was the GC and new Ram.

  25. We all know what the 200 looks like…I really, really, really doubt the forthcoming 200 from Chrysler will look this good….hopefully I'm wrong!

    It might share many similarities – but won't be nearly that sleek. C-pillar reason #1

  26. O:K, a couple of you obviously have a pretty bad bias against anything Chrysler–including sites (Allpar) that follow Chrysler's latest offerings. So forget what Chrysler & Allpar say and just read the articles in the Wall Street Journal & Automotive News. If you find THEM too "pro-Chrysler" then mabey the problem has nothing to do with the car itself at all!

    And enough with the silly complaints about the blacked-out C piller. Show me a sedan that does NOT have a blacked-out B pillar and I'll show you some styling from the 1960's. Some of us LIKE the blacked-out B &/or C pillars.

    As far as the 2011 200 goes; I think it looks pretty damn slick! And yes, I'll gladly pay an extra $5,000 to get a Slick 200 over a Sonata/Honda/Toy.

    It's not that we have a bias against Chysler; it's that nobody has driven the new product yet.

    Where do you think all the sites get their details? Chrysler….of course they're going to say that it looks awesome, drives fantastic.
