toyota and honda really are making some of the ugliest beasts on the road.
i just dont get it.
lexus is running out of ideas. they need to reinvent themselves, just like Mazda did just a few years ago.
Vince, dumb fucking people will eat this up. Just like they are eating up the new HS.
Are you THAT stuck up that you need a badge on what is essentially an enlarged Prius? Spending $40,000+ on such a worthless vehicle is beyond me.
If you want a hybrid sedan, buy a damn Fusion or Camry and save $10,000.

No WAY! How is it that Toyota never runs out of horrible design ideas?!
Lexus does not sell well anymore…this wont help
Another nail in the coffin for the "mighty" Lexus. Give me a damn Cadillac already.

Too late, the last nail was rammed into GMs coffin years ago.
And no matter how much more tax payers dollars are wasted, GM is still dead.
Apparently, they think that Venza + Old Subaru + LSD = new design???
Another grossly overpriced Toyota with even more gross styling! The sheeple will eat it up! Nasty!
Quite a few jealous people with the negative comments here by the looks.
It strikes a careful balance between being grotesque and inconspicuous. I'm sure it'll sell fine to the kind of people who like expensive Toyotas.
"Quite a few jealous people with the negative comments here by the looks."
Jealous of what? This is not what I imagine in a $50,000+ vehicle, period.
do people still buy these huge suv's anymore?
ill bet toyota regrets the day the got into the pick up truck market
lexus does not sell well??
you might wanna go check how many cars the'vey sold over the last few months compared to bmw and mercedes benz
Toyota has now officially adopted their new company process they have dubbed I124Q2 as their latest and greatest conquest here in America. This new platform allows Toyota to manufacture the most unique vehicles and sell them to trustworthy Americans for the largest profit margin possible.
BMW and Mercedes dont sell well anymore.
I actually kind of like it….
Brings nothing new to the mid-size SUV market…but it looks like it will be classy and pull together the Lexus family look.
TO my understanding it looks good and how an luxury SUV should look like. Now peoeple who dont like it give me a single example of any such luxury suv in the same range who looks better and performs better then this. People who bitch about it cant probably buy it.
Its a pure Luxury performance SUV and I love it. Come to middle east-Dubai and see how many they are there. They outsellf any other small/ midsize car even after being expensive.
Does anybody know when this beauty is coming out?
I'd like to see the SUV without the hood covers, bumper details etc. before coming to conclusions.
Toyota is almost as lost as honda these days!
I see a lot of the newest Tundra, Sequaia, and Lexus SUV's around these days — mainly on used car lots– but hey, they're still trying!
And Toyota decided THIS is it? One day, they were, like… ta-da, done!!! Really? Did they design this in an afternoon? I think that most designers would have wadded this up and tossed it in the can. But not Toyota. No way! Suckers will buy it because it's bland and invisible and the pricetag will outshine their neighbors bland and invisible Highlander. Everything about Toyota reminds me of GM in the 70s and 80s. Arrogant and lazy at the worst possible time.
People love to make the GM = Toyota comparison but although both have been at the top in sales, there's a different approach that's worked for either…Toyota has always banked on conservative styling, and that includes some Lexus models like the GX. For all the ridiculous mistakes GM has made, it has also produced some interesting looking vehicles, but with terrible quality.

There is no "performace" about this model at all. It is a luxed up 4Runner which is a cheap Toyota.
A model that performs BETTER? Looks are subjective by the way.
An ML550 with the off-road package. THAT is better.
Apparently Toyota sees a big market for people with more money than style, class, or intelligence.
