Interesting…

Edmunds has a really interesting article about “real” people comparing the Malibu with the Camry and Accord.
Interesting because again, the results are quite different than they would have been just a year ago.
Click on the title for the whole thing.
This link working for anyone?
Nope!
Entire thing sounds a bit contrived.
they all sound about as objective as car magazines and automobile writers
The people have spoken!
Dumb woman was to distracted by the colors to put together a cmoprehensive review of the actual vehicle.
YOU CAN GET IT IN OTHER COLORS.
big difference between saying will buy and actually buying
I know I wouldn’t buy it as much as I love my country, it’s just stupid to buy a first year model of any brand.
This is pretty much consistant with what the professional reviews have been… a tossup between the Malibu and the Accord with an occasional Toyota shill picking the lame Camry over two clearly better cars.
“it’s just stupid to buy a first year model of any brand.”
I usually agree with this statement…but there is one exception: the 1996 Chrysler T&C….my parents still have it…and love it. My dad ordered it and it appeared on the showroom floor when it came in. People wanted to buy it…but sadly back in Nov. 1995, that particular one wasn’t for sale 😉
I think Chevrolet is starting to do to Camry and Accord what Sedona, Odessey, and Sienna have been doing to the Caravan for quite awhile…
Oh…well, well. It appears the general public think an American car can be a better package than an Asian car!? who would have thought!!
About time camry was shown up for what it really is, an average car selling more on perception of quality and reputation rather than simply being the better car…
Look for this too happen more often over the next 4 years as Gm and Ford climb back on top…
As Honda and Toyota continue to lower the quality bar, praising the Malibu means less and less.
Tenty years ago I had a Chevy Citation. It was extremely durable but so cheap inside, even the dash knobs didn’t match. The idea was to get you to move up to a Cutlass.
Today, Oldsmobile is not the competition, and they had to make a great car. They knew how, they just had to let the bean counter let them.

Manufacturing crap is an incentive to spend more money? Dear God, GM depends on people like you.
The new Malibu is quite refreshing, but why does it take GM 20 years to get into the game?
Oh. Because people continually buy and apologize for its lackluster products.
