2010 Mercedes E class
Last Updated:
For about 4 seconds, Mercedes showed the next E class to the Frankfurt Auto show audience.
It came out, and came back in. Covered in the usual tank like camouflage.
I wonder… What is the point of that?!?!

I just remembered your comment the other day about how terrible MB’s quality over the last 10 years – and how they’re struggling to improve the reputation..
reminds me of an internet company who used to demonstrate how good their equipments were by cutting the cables one-by-one in front of the customers, just to demo their redundant system.
MB needs to do something like that, instead of a 4-sec teaser of a camouflage car
This is odd and desperate ! seeing that this car wont physically come out for 2 years from today’s date, they either A = figured they could not make a concept that would be so far flung and not show too much to there competitors or B = they want every buyer to wait for the new E class to show up and buy it !! (see GM for this kinda hoopla).
This is pretty much just about more press coverage. Put something along the lines of “2010 E-Class sneak peek” on the bill and you’ll get just about every journo and photographer at your stand when the time comes, no matter what you show. The point is the flow-on coverage Mercedes’ other products will benefit from. Pretty clever really.

Exactly. Very clever indeed.
Since when has Mercedes’ reputation been tarnished? No German car is “known” for its reliability.
