2008 Avalon

Not sure how much they changed, but the front bumper looks new. Maybe the grille?

Anyway, here it is, the 2008 Toyota Avalon…

  1. A REAL SPORT SEDAN IS NEEDED IN THIS SEGMENT TOYOTA SHOULD INSTALL FAATY 19 WHEELS, BIG FOG LAMPS, SPORT SEATS AND SPORT FRONT FASCIA.

Ej. *BMW M Power* LOOK !
    THINK ABOUT IT !

  2. Boring grandfather mobile. It is fast in a straight line, that’s about all. You buy this and you are too cheap to buy the ES350. Step up to the plate and fork out some more cash for the Lexus.

To the anonymous poster who says they should “install faaty 19 wheels”… That is rediculous. Why would you make this a sport model. The average consumer who buys this vehicle is about 50+. No thanks.

    MR

  3. The Avalon is an excellent automobile for the market in which it’s designed to appeal. These slight design tweaks are conservative but perfect for typical Avalon buyers. Toyota didn’t get to be number one by being stupid.

  4. The Toyota Avalon is not only the automotive equivalent to anesthesia, it’s also the perfect grannymobile for those people who’s next ride will be in a hearse. I wonder if Toyota replaced the cheap-ass interior pieces with something close to quality.

  5. Looks more like a Lexus with that new bumper. Why spend the money for a Lexus when you can buy the same thing with the Toyota emblem?
    😉

  6. If I wanted to run twisty roads, why would I buy a sedan? If I wanted sporty, etc … why would I buy a sedan? Grandnanny … get real, my other car does 0 to 60 in 3.2 seconds. If I want twisty and sport, I ride my VFR; for comfort and class, I drive my Avalon.

  7. Anyone notice the number of the horizontal bar on grille of the Toyota family?

Yaris has one bar, the new Corolla has two, Camry has three and Avalon has four.

As well as in Lexus, the ES start by 5 and LS has 7.

  8. The 2008 Avalon is an incremental upgrade. New 6-speed transmission; BlueTooth capability; adjustable lumbar support in front passenger seat back. In-key entry system. A few other things, but mostly a tweaking of the current Avalon style. MSRP only about $200 over the 2007s.

  9. Super gorgeous car.The envy of four-door luxury sedan segment. But they, obviously, played it safe on this one,as far as redesign is concerned.Like they say,”why mess with success.”

  10. “Anyone notice the number of the horizontal bar on grille of the Toyota family?

I hadn’t noticed that.. but isn’t that the same trick Mercedes used to use on their sedan grilles in the 1980s and 1990s? The 190/C class had two horizontal bars, the 300/E class had three, and the S class had four. These days, M-B can’t help but slap coupe grilles on their CLS and C class sport sedans!
